After starting at MetaDesign in 2002, Tobias Phleps was responsible for establishing business development and later one of the business units. In 2007 he became a member of the executive board. As chief client officer he is responsible for the interaction of the units and competence centers, their structure and profitable development. He also plays a significant role in developing and marketing MetaDesign's product portfolio.

Tobias Phleps did his vocational training as an advertising specialist and went on to study Marketing. He has advised such clients as Porsche, Beck’s, Sharp and Honda. After working for the classical advertising agencies Springer & Jacoby, DDB Needham, FCB and Scholz & Friends he became Group Management Supervisor for Davidoff International in London and then Managing Director of frogdesign in Berlin.
