One hundred thirty-nine years of successful business operations is truly a grand achievement. As one of the large family-owned companies in Europe, Voith is a symbol of business success in the fields of papermaking technology, power transmission, hydro power generation and industrial services. Yet in the late 1990s, changes in corporate structure and a decentralized communications strategy obscured the group’s image. Using a forward-looking umbrella brand strategy, MetaDesign shifted the focus to Voith as a brand, and since then, the agency has provided visual and communications support for the successful development of the company.
MetaDesign advised its client to strengthen the tradition-steeped Voith brand across all business divisions. Voith needed to be perceived as one company with a single identity and a single integrated brand image. The name Voith was made the focus of communication activities. MetaDesign visually expressed the objectives of the forward-looking umbrella brand strategy in a clear, fresh design system that was supported by both communications and motivational strategies.
